Our 3-Step Web Development Process

We follow a structured process to turn requirements into reliable web applications. Each step focuses on clarity, quality, and long term maintainability.

  1. 01

    Clarify Direction

We create clarity by validating assumptions and defining what success means for your product.

  2. 02

    Design and Develop

We design and build the web application with a focus on performance, usability, and clean architecture. Responsive behavior, stability, and cross browser compatibility are built in from the start.

  3. 03

    Test and Operate

We test functionality, performance, and security before launch. After release, we support operation, improvements, and optimization based on real usage.

What we build with

We choose the tech stack for your product, not out of habit. These are the technologies and tools we use for web apps and online shops, many of them with a project we built with them.

Angular

For large interfaces with many forms and states, also as a progressive web app. Too heavy for a small website.

Case study: OfficeActor

Node.js

For real-time features like chat and back ends that connect many services. For classic form and subscription logic, Laravel is often leaner.

Case study: Interplace

Express.js

For lean REST APIs that feed the web app, mobile app and admin panel from one source. A pure content website does not need its own API back end.

Case study: Legalbeat

MongoDB

For data whose structure changes with the product, such as profiles, events and content. For heavily linked accounting or billing data, a relational database fits better.

Case study: RMN Events

JavaScript

The language of the browser: every interaction on a website runs on it, in larger projects as TypeScript with strict types. A pure information page needs very little of it.

Case study: OfficeActor

Vue.js

For interactive interfaces that start lean and grow step by step. For very large applications with many teams, Angular is often more structured.

HTML

The skeleton of every page: cleanly structured so Google, AI search and screen readers understand the content. No substitute for a framework when the page needs logic.

Case study: PCapital

CSS

For layout, typography and animations that fit every screen, from phone to monitor. Motion only where it explains something.

Case study: Unico Swiss

Tailwind CSS

For interfaces built quickly and consistently from a design system. For an existing site with its own CSS, switching rarely pays off.

PHP

For backends and websites that run on almost any server, often with Laravel. For real-time features like chat, Node.js is the better choice.

Case study: competenz4u

Laravel

For web apps and SaaS with a lot of business logic, roles and subscriptions. Too much for a pure content website.

Case study: Gesunde Zeiten

WordPress

For websites your team maintains itself. Not for complex business logic, which belongs in its own web app.

Case study: PCapital

Shopify

For online shops that go live fast and grow with apps and integrations. Not when the shop needs very specific pricing and payment logic.

Case study: Unico Swiss

Shopware 6

For shops with their own pricing and payment logic, such as corporate, school and financing offers. For a fast, lean start, Shopify is enough.

Case study: MacTrade

Cursor

Our AI editor in day-to-day development: routine code, tests and refactoring go faster, and a developer reviews every change. It does not make architecture decisions.

GitHub Copilot

AI suggestions right in the code, above all for recurring patterns. The developer decides in review what is kept.

ChatGPT

For research, concepts and copy in the project and as a language model in AI features. Customer data only goes into environments that allow it.

Gemini

As a second language model, for example for long documents and images, and to cross-check results. We choose the model per task.

Qodo (Codium)

For AI-assisted code reviews and tests that show gaps early. It does not replace a review by a second developer.

n8n

For automations between tools, such as form, CRM and email, without custom code for every connection. For core logic under heavy load we build a dedicated interface.

Innovative Progressive Web Apps that feel like native products

PWAs combine the reach of the web with the performance and usability users expect from native applications.

Engaged Users

Users will actively and regularly use your product as web app is fast, clear, and easy to use.

Actionable Insights

We design with analytics in mind so you understand how users actually behave.

Device Independent Experience

Your website performs consistently on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Revenue Focused Structure

Every page supports conversion goals without overwhelming the user.

Web App Development: Frequently Asked Questions

Custom web app development at Vitec covers the full lifecycle: product strategy, UX and UI design, frontend and backend development, testing and launch, followed by operation and continuous improvement. You work with one accountable team instead of separate agencies for design, code and hosting. The goal is a web application that is fast, secure and maintainable, built around your business processes rather than a template.

We choose the tech stack per project, based on your requirements, your team and long term maintainability, not on habit. Typical building blocks are Angular for the frontend, Node.js with Express or Laravel and PHP for the backend, Python where data processing is central, and MongoDB or relational databases. For content driven websites and online shops we also work with WordPress, Shopify and Shopware 6.

A progressive web app (PWA) is a web application that can be installed on a phone or desktop, loads fast and keeps working on a weak connection. It reaches users through the browser without an app store and is maintained from one codebase. A PWA is the right choice when reach, fast updates and lower development cost matter more than deep access to device hardware.

The cost depends on scope, integrations, user roles and security requirements, so we do not quote a flat price before we understand your product. In a short strategy phase we first define scope and priorities; the estimate then rests on a clear plan instead of assumptions. AI supported workflows reduce repetitive work and keep costs more predictable across the project.

The timeline depends on scope and complexity. A focused first version can go live much earlier than a complete platform, which is why we set priorities before development starts and plan releases in stages. You see working results early and decide on the next steps based on real usage, instead of waiting for one large launch.

Performance, security and search visibility are part of the build, not an add-on at the end. We optimise architecture, assets and delivery for fast load times, build security into access control, data handling and deployment, and follow technical SEO best practices such as a clean structure and accessibility. Before launch we test functionality, performance and security; after release we monitor real usage.

If you sell products or services to consumers online in the EU, very likely yes. The European Accessibility Act applies since 28 June 2025; in Germany it is implemented as the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG). It covers online shops, booking flows, banking services and e-books, in short anything that prepares or closes a contract with consumers online. Pure B2B offers are out of scope, and micro-enterprises with fewer than 10 employees and no more than EUR 2 million annual turnover are exempt as long as they only provide services. In practice the technical benchmark is WCAG 2.1 level AA via the standard EN 301 549. For new web apps we plan accessibility in from the start, because retrofitting it is almost always more expensive. In a strategy call we work out which requirements this means for your product.
